"Don't let anyone look down on you because you are young, but set an example for the believers in speech, in life, in love, in faith and in purity." - 1 Timothy 4:12
Do you ever feel like people don't take you seriously because you're too young? Like you don't know anything about the "real world" because you haven't been there yet? Do you feel like you're not able to do anything for God because you're just not ready yet? It's something to do when you're older, something to do when you're an adult?
Well this passage tries to stop you from that frame of thinking. You are never too young to do something for God. It's important, so I'll say it again. You're never too young to do something for God. When Paul wrote this message to Timothy, Timothy was 16 years old and running the church at Ephesus. Think about that...he was your age and running a church! there were people there who were challenging him, thinking he hasn't lived life enough to understand everything yet, but the leaders of the church felt otherwise.
You are never too young to do something for God. When God asks you to step up, don't play this card; because honestly, He will find a way to point you back to this verse. You're not too young. You're not powerless. The truth is: do you know who are the best ones to teach teens for Christ? Teens. All you have to do is be willing to accept the fact you can make a difference, you can step up, you can do something great to impact the world through Jesus Christ.
So don't play the "I'm too young" card. If Timothy could lead a church, then you can easily tell others about Christ, start a Bible study, invite friends to church, or live out your faith by your actions.
